Flourished French Copperplate - Historic Calligraphy [6 week course]

Building on the French Copperplate Foundations course we'll be adding flourishes to our words and phrases. This is arguably the fun part about doing calligraphy!
Skill level: Intermediate (A-Z model will not be taught, if you're familiar with a pointed pen/copperplate script you're welcome to join)
Contents:
Alternate letters (lowercase and capital)
Double letters combinations
Calligraphic flowers and knots
Analysing/studying old master flourishes

When: 6x Mondays: July 27, August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
Time: 6:15pm - 7:45pm [1.5 hrs]

This class is limited to 10 attendees. You'll get individual feedback/personalised help in each class.
No materials included. It's assumed you would have already have materials ready either from a previous class or you can buy additional material here. Guidelines and model sheets will be provided.
To bring:
Ink friendly A4 notebook, oblique pen holder, nib (recommended Nikko/Zebra G nib), walnut or dye-based ink, pencil, eraser.
The venue is not accessible (has a flight of stairs and no lift). The script is not adapted for left handers, but left-handers who have some experience of copperplate are welcome to join. To get the most out of the class, there's optional homework if you'd like to bring in every week for me to correct. Please note these are in-person workshops, there are no catch up lessons if you miss a class, nor are refunds given. Cancellations are not accepted 72 hours before the first week of the course but can be transferred.

Jessica Le is the founder and illustrator behind Fleur & Fable. She's inspired by vintage illustration, the Pre-Raphaelites, Art Nouveau and the Arts and Craft era. Using traditional media like dip pens and ink, she brings to life her style of medieval romantic florals and figures. She's been published four times as author and illustrator with her work being translated into French. Jess is a member of the Australian Society of Calligraphers and has done calligraphy for major brands like Dymocks.
